My apologies for the HUGE lack of posts this season and during the offseason as well. I didn't even realize that I haven't even said much about Deflategate either but it was bullshit anyways and everyone close to me knows how I felt about the situation.
But anyways...
Well it has been one hell of an interesting season, not only for New England but all around the league. Now it's down to only four teams: New England, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Green Bay. The Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers represent the NFC in the Championship game later on today, while New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers represent the AFC tonight in what should be an epic showdown. I don't really care too much for the NFC game but if I had to choose, I want the Atlanta Falcons to win. I've never been a fan of Green Bay, mainly because an ex of mine is a HUGE Packers fan.
But let's talk about the Patriots' season up until this point. So New England started out with a suspended Tom Brady for the first four games due to Deflategate. All offseason long, every New England fan heard that this team was going to go 2-2 AT BEST without Brady those first four games. How'd that prediction go? New England ended up going 3-1. After losing 2nd string quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo to a right shoulder injury, thanks to a Miami defenseman, 3rd string quarterback Jacoby Brissett got to step in. Brissett's first full game was a 27-0 win against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football in those amazing Color Rush uniforms. Week 4, they didn't even try against the Buffalo Bills having scored ZERO points. Once Brady was back, he was on fire. It was like he had never been suspended at all. The entire season he only threw 2 interceptions and lost one game. New England finished the season 14-2.
This season we saw some new outstanding performers shine with the Patriots. Wide receiver Chris Hogan, Malcolm Mitchell, tight end Martellus Bennett, and those fellas on the defense definitely helped. Bennett found himself being the main tight end after Rob Gronkowski once again landed himself on the IR for his back. At the beginning of the season, Gronkowski was dealing with a hamstring injury as well. -_- And then we have the wonderful and amazing running back LeGarrette Blount who did freaking PHENOMENAL this season.
After finishing 1st in our division, AFC East again, here we are again...ONE game away from the Super Bowl. Just One More. Everything counts and relies on tonight. Here's to hoping that New England pulls off the win and continue on their quest for FIVE!! Good luck tonight fellas!!
