Patriots Tidbits

I realize that I haven't updated my blog for a couple of months. I'd apologize for that but I'm sure not many care as I'm just a "girl" who doesn't really know much about the sport...

New England has made several changes this offseason. Everybody knows about Wes Welker heading to the Broncos after not receiving the offer from New England that he wanted. In my opinion, I don't think he was even interested in being a Patriot much longer. Welker put his penthouse in Boston on the market months before negotiations had even started. Wes' wife actually is from Colorado so it honestly makes a lot of sense as to why he chose Denver.

I'm tired of people comparing Amendola to Welker. Welker walked away from New England without a second glance. With all of the moves New England has made so far in this offseason, I don't think we have anything to worry about. These two could be a pair from hell & one hell of a force to be reckoned with. 2013 is the Patriots year. Seeing Brady and Amendola working together already gets me pumped up for the season more than I already am...

After Emmanuel Sanders signing an offer sheet with New England, the Steelers have re-signed him for another year by matching New England's offer. This seems like a loss for both sides. Now the Patriots lose out on the best remaining receiver, and the Steelers will get a receiver who has never been a huge success, at a price they didnt want to pay, for one year. With them matching the Patriots, I foresee New England bringing Brandon Lloyd back at a cheaper price. If you think about it, New England has a history of cutting players and bringing them right back. Deion Branch is the perfect example, just saying.

Gronkowski has been in the headlines this past week with the rumors that he might have to undergo surgery AGAIN on his forearm. If he has surgery again, he'll most likely not be ready for the start of the season. Maybe he should have been making better decisions and actually trying to get better instead of partying and making horrible decisions. For the past TWO years he has not been healthy during playoffs. If he had his priorities in check, maybe just maybe, we could have been Super Bowl champs 2 years in a row. However, I still blame losing Super Bowl XLVI on the dropped pass from Wes Welker.

At least we still have Julian Edelman. He proved to be a beast last season before getting injured. He's coming off of a foot injury however, he also suffered a concussion as well as a hand injury last season. I honestly thought he would no longer be a Patriot this coming up season after visiting with the Giants. With Edleman being re-signed New England has four top receivers: Amendola, Gronk, Edelman, and Hernandez. All four of them have issues staying healthy, so this could be either a great year for New England or a horrible one.

But IN BILL WE TRUST!!!!

But also IN BRADY WE TRUST!!!
