I honestly believe that Belichick and Brady are going to lead my badass team back to the Superbowl this year. Every fan of every team believes that their team will make it to the upcoming Superbowl but I think the Patriots really do have a decent shot.
Look at these factors:
Number One: The Patriots made some very smart moves for the first time this year in the draft. They picked up players that have good potential in helping us with our defense. Let's face it, the defense sucked last season yet we still managed to make it to the big game. Grateful!
The Patriots have acquired Jonathon Fanene, Chandler Jones, Jake Bequette, Dont'a Hightower & Trevor Scott. These four fellas have a shot at being some type of threat to opposing teams this year. As the 21st pick of this year's draft, Chandler Jones, is a beast. He performed awesomely during the NFL Combine, having a 35-inch vertical jump. (Being a girl, i assume that's pretty good. lol) Now, Trevor Scott, i'm not too sure about. I don't really know why they acquired him. He barely started in the 2011 season when he played for the Raiders due to a knee injury so we shall see. Now Fanene had previously played for the Bengals for the past seven seasons. He's supposed to be good with versatility as is Hightower. We'll see. On to Mr. Bequette. I have read that he performs quite well in blitz situations, which is a good thing. But he does have some shortcomings as I do more research on him. Only time will tell how he'll actually be with the Pats.
Number Two: Vince Wilfork, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez. These guys are straight-up badasses! If it wasn't for Gronk's ankle injury, we definitely would have had a different outcome to SB XLVI. Look at Wilfork. He is an overall amazing player. He's tough, strong and honestly, he has no weaknesses that seem to matter in my opinion. He's got great size to do some damage to the opposing team, and he has proven himself over and over repeatedly since joining the Patriots in the past 8 years.
Number Three: Past History. Ever since the win against the Rams in the 2002 Superbowl, the Patriots have won three Superbowls, won the AFC five times, have nine AFC East titles, and have 11 or more games at least 8 different times. New England once again had the best record in the AFC last year.
Number Four: Opponents. Not many of the opposing teams to New England have made any decent or game changing moves to their rosters or playbooks to help bring down the Pats. Flacco needs more of a reliable receiver but their dumbass coach was too busy dissing the Patriots and the Saints to even make that move. The Steelers are pretty much a group of old guys that are overdue for retirement led by a bathroom rapist, who's expecting a child with his wife this year. We all know that the Steelers are pretty much washed-up has-beens now. The Texans seemed as a bit of a threat to the team but honestly, they didn't pull through nor did they make any decent moves this offseason either. The New York Jets and fatass Rex Ryan have made no improvements whatsoever. They signed Tim Tebow but that means nothing. Mark Sanchez and Tebow both suck ass anyways so whatever. I mean Sanchez has really made no name for himself since being signed to the Jets years ago. Rex was probably too busy licking his wife's feet to even begin to make any improvements on his team.
Number Five: Signing of even more players since the Draft. They signed Brandon Lloyd & Jabar Gaffney. I honestly don't know much at Jabar so I guess time will tell with that one. I did read that he had close to 1000 receiving yards last season.
Number Six: Tom Brady. Now he was a badass last year, having thrown 5,235 yards and 39 touchdowns. But let's face it. He's getting up there in age, and now with his wife being knocked up yet again, I think he's not going to be as focused. He's let his wife pick his hairstyles along with everything else since they've been together. He's slowly turning into a bit of a joke.
Number Seven: New England's Schedule.
