What a week in the NFL. 5 rookie debuts, Peyton Manning's first regular season game as a Bronco, and the Jets high-scoring game against the Bills.
This week, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Tannehill, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and Brandon Weeden had their first major debut in the National Football League. Honestly, I didn't really know much about Wilson and Weeden and I still don't. Now, when it comes to RG3, Luck and Tannehill, I'm a little bit more knowledgeable.
Robert Griffin III made his debut as a Washington Redskin against Hall of Famer, Drew Brees and the bounty hunters, the Saints. With this being his big debut, many thought that he would have a tough time considering who he was up against and playing away. He definitely proved everybody wrong. The Saints received the ball first and after 3 horrible passes, RG3 took the stage. He ended up throwing 320 yards, two touchdown passes and no interceptions! The Redskins beat the Saints 41-21.
Andrew Luck made his debut as an Indianapolis Colt against Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears. Luck threw for 309 yards, had three interceptions, and one touchdown pass. Everybody has been saying from the get go that Luck was going to be this huge badass player & his debut was going to be huge. I have disagreed ever since Manning was dropped and the Luck talk started. Everybody was just so eager to jump on the Andrew Luck bandwagon that I don't really think that any of them expected this loss. I've said since the NFL combine that RG3 was going to be the number one rookie quarterback out of them all. Personally, I think Irsay should have drafted RG3 instead of Luck but what do i know?
On to the Miami Dolphins' rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. Now here's a quarterback that is somewhat decent. He's not too knowledgeable in the NFL department. He doesn't really know much information about the divisions and rival teams. I probably know more than he knows, which is honestly kind of sad. Tannehill and the Dolphins were up against the Houston Texans, losing 30-10. Tannehill threw for 219 yards, and threw three interceptions. The only touchdown the Dolphins saw came from a punt return.
The Seattle Seahawks started Russell Wilson. Up against the Arizona Cardinals, the Seahawks lost 20-16. Wilson threw for 153 yards and threw one touchdown pass and one interception.
Cleveland Browns' Brandon Weeden. Now here's an interesting quarterback. He completed only 12 of 35 passes, for 118 yards and 4 interceptions. What the hell? The only touchdown Cleveland received came of of an interception return. Clearly these last three definitely need to do some major tuning up & practicing. I honestly don't foresee these three in the league three years from now. Tannehill maybe.
And what the hell was up the New York Jets asses? When I saw the final score against Buffalo i was seriously shocked. 48-28. The Jets went from not scoring a single touchdown out of all four preseason games to scoring as many as they did. And Rex Ryan? How much weight are you losing, dude? Geez. I loved every football season talking about your fatass but now you're practically a new man, and your mouth doesn't seem to be as big as the past. I have a little more respect for you and your boys....i guess.
Peyton Manning started in his first game since January 2011. The Broncos defeated the Steelers 31-19. Thank God! I fucking hate the Steelers, most of their fans and the fucking rapist piece of shit, soon-to-be father, Roethlisberger.
